Agra

Agra is located on India’s Golden Triangle. It is, of course, the home of the iconic Taj Mahal. It is the favorite city of the Mughals today. The red sandstone, white marble, narrow lanes and quaint buggies are irresistibly charming. The 17th century Taj Mahal is a poem in stone. Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan created the mausoleum for his favorite wife Mumtaz Mahal. A Persian architect, Ustad Isa, perfectly designed and planned the structure. It took 22 years to complete. In addition, the Taj is noted for its elegant domes and some of the best inlay work ever seen. (Note: Taj Mahal remains closed on Fridays).

The Small List

The Taj Mahal – With its incredible lacy white grandeur and loveliness, the Taj Mahal is perhaps the most perfect architectural monument in the world. Emperor Shahjehan constructed this incomparable monument in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. The Taj Mahal is amazingly graceful from any angle. It is the close up detail, which is really astounding. In conclusion, make sure to enjoy a sunrise and a sunset visit to the Taj Mahal.

Oberoi Amarvilas – A gem of a hotel located just 600 meters from the iconic Taj Mahal. Each of the rooms has uninterrupted views of the Taj Mahal, the ancient monument to love. Moreover, enjoy elements of splendor with a spectacular multi layered pool for afternoon enjoyment.
