The Plaza Hotel

The Plaza Hotel, perched on the edge of Central Park, is synonymous with New York City luxury and history. Since opening in 1907, it’s been the backdrop for movies, celebrity scandals, and even a Beatles invasion (they stayed here during their first U.S. tour in 1964). The hotel’s gilded halls have hosted everyone from F. Scott Fitzgerald to Marilyn Monroe, making it a true icon of opulence.

Caneel Bay Resort

Caneel Bay, once the crown jewel of luxury in the U.S. Virgin Islands, is embarking on a transformative journey. Positioned within the pristine beauty of Virgin Islands National Park on St. John, this iconic property has long been cherished for its unspoiled beaches, crystal-clear waters, and tranquil ambiance.

After Hurricane Irma in 2017 left Caneel Bay severely damaged, its future became uncertain. However, recent developments have paved the way for its revival. In 2024, the National Park Service (NPS) reclaimed stewardship of the property, initiating plans to reimagine the resort with an emphasis on sustainability, public access, and cultural preservation.

In August 2024, Caneel Beach reopened to the public, allowing visitors to once again enjoy its stunning sands and calm waters. Facilities like designated parking and restrooms are available for day-use guests.
The NPS has prioritized environmental cleanup, removing hazardous materials and addressing ecological concerns to restore the property to its natural splendor.
Plans for a reimagined Caneel Bay Resort include up to 166 guest units and a design that harmonizes with the surrounding environment. The NPS is actively seeking a development partner to create a world-class, sustainable destination.
