Built in 1578 as the residence of the Hohenbühel zu Heufler family, Ansitz Heufler is a remarkable Renaissance retreat in the Antholz Valley where more than four centuries of South Tyrolean history meet the contemporary vision of celebrated chef Norbert Niederkofler.
Rather than transforming the historic residence into a conventional luxury hotel, Niederkofler has preserved its intimacy and character. Just ten individually designed suites combine centuries-old architectural details with restrained contemporary comforts, creating a place that feels deeply connected to its surroundings.
Food is naturally central to the experience. At Osteria Ansitz Heufler, Niederkofler’s Cook the Mountain philosophy translates South Tyrolean ingredients and traditional recipes into cuisine shaped by season, place, and the people who produce them. The historic Rauchkuchl—once the house’s smoke kitchen—has been transformed into an intimate lounge bar, while the garden terrace looks toward the surrounding Dolomites.
Ansitz Heufler is also part of a much larger culinary story. It is Niederkofler’s most intimate expression of hospitality and a natural counterpart to his other South Tyrolean destinations, AlpiNN and the three-Michelin-starred Atelier Moessmer.
