Experience the Dolomites with someone who knows them
Our trusted Selva resource for private mountain guides and equipment, helping visitors experience the very best of Val Gardena in winter and summer.
The Dolomites become an entirely different experience when you explore them with someone who truly knows the mountains. In Selva di Val Gardena, Scuola Sci & Snowboard 2000 is our go-to resource for private guides, instruction, equipment, and creating personalized days in the mountains.
In winter, private instructors can take you far beyond a conventional ski lesson. Spend the day exploring the Sellaronda, discover the best terrain throughout Dolomiti Superski, improve your technique, or simply let a local expert design the day around the snow, weather, your ability, and what you want to experience. For accomplished skiers, specialized experiences can extend to freeride terrain with qualified professionals.
The convenience is equally valuable. Scuola 2000 combines ski and snowboard instruction, rentals, equipment service, storage, a shop, and ski-pass access, with two locations in the heart of Selva, including one directly by the Ciampinoi gondola.
And when the snow disappears, don’t stop exploring. Summer in Val Gardena is every bit as extraordinary, and spending a day with someone who knows the trails, mountains, and hidden corners of the valley can completely change how you experience it.
For us, that person is Carlos.

Insider Insight
Carlos is our favorite guide year-round, and that’s the recommendation we’d give a friend coming to Val Gardena.
In winter, rather than simply hiring an instructor for a lesson, book Carlos for a private day and let him show you the Dolomites. A great local guide knows much more than the pistes—where the snow is best that morning, which route makes sense for the conditions, when to avoid a busy lift, and, importantly, where to stop for an exceptional mountain lunch.
Summer is equally special. Hiking with Carlos allows you to experience the mountains without constantly studying maps or wondering which trail to choose. Tell him how challenging you want the day to be and what you’d like to see, and allow him to help shape the experience.
For equipment, start at Scuola 2000 as well. Having your guiding and gear coordinated through one trusted local resource makes getting onto the mountain remarkably easy.
You can certainly explore Val Gardena on your own, but a great local guide changes the experience completely. Scuola Sci & Snowboard 2000 gives travelers a trusted starting point for private guiding, instruction, equipment, and local knowledge, while Carlos is the person we personally request whenever we’re here. Winter or summer, having someone you trust leading the way allows you to stop thinking about logistics and simply enjoy one of the most extraordinary mountain regions in the world.
We’ve learned that the right guide doesn’t simply show you where to go. They introduce you to the mountain they know and love.
