Fisherman’s Bastion is one of Budapest’s most enchanting spots, offering breathtaking views of the Danube River, Parliament, and the city’s skyline. Located in the heart of the Castle District, this Neo-Romanesque terrace was built in the late 19th century and resembles something straight out of a fairytale with its turrets, arches, and sweeping staircases.

Originally built as a viewing platform, it’s the perfect place for visitors to take in panoramic views of Budapest while enjoying the castle’s romantic, historical ambiance.

Don’t miss the statue of St. Stephen, Hungary’s first king, which stands proudly in the courtyard. For a small fee, you can also climb to the upper terraces for an even better vantage point. For the best photo op, head to the far-left turret and visit just before sunset to avoid the crowds.
